神奈備 (Original Japanese lyrics)：

巫女の舞う　常世と現世の境
ややこの生まれき
御霊代に　うぶぎぬ織りて　結界とする
魔縁より護りて　大麻と名付け初む

麻の葉　麻の葉　神奈備の　八千代に　くにを　護り賜う
麻の葉　麻の葉　神のくさ　止んごとなき恵みを

現代語訳(Contemporary Japanese version) ：
（神奈備とは神道の言葉で、神が住むと言われる領域の事である）

現世と黄泉の境で、巫女が舞いを舞っている。
赤ん坊が産まれた。
御霊代（神の宿るもの、この場合は大麻の糸）で赤ん坊の産着を織り（黄泉と現世を分つための）結界とした。
邪悪なものより（赤ん坊を）護るそれを、大麻と名付けた。

神奈備の麻の葉よ、永遠にこの国を護りたまえ。
神の草の麻の葉よ、止む事のない恵みをありがとう。

ローマ字 (Phonation version in Roman letters)：
Miko no mau Tokoyo to Utsushiyo no kyou.
Yayako no umareshi.
Mitamashiro ni ubuginu orite kekkai to suru.

英訳：
(This song is written in the old Japanese. Following will be the translation including some cultural explanations.)

Kannnabi (The area where the Gods live, a term from Shinto.)

The female shrine maidens are dancing in between the land of the dead and the present world.
A baby was born.
The special cloth for the new born baby was made with hemp (in Shinto, hemp is a holy plant that the Gods live.), as a spiritual barrier.
The hemp protects the baby from the evil, and the plant was named "Taima (hemp in Japanese)."

Hemp leaves, hemp leaves, from the world of the Gods.
Please protect our nation forever.
Hemp leaves, hemp leaves, the God's plant.
